CollectivePower – A positive response to 9/11

Our first wine/cheese tasting was held in response to the September 11th tragedy. We raised $1400 that night and the money went to Rockaway community in New York. As in subsequent years the dollars raised were only one positive aspect. The event itself was part of the healing process for both the Rockaway community and for us.

The tasting is about creating and strengthening the community. Over the years we have taken on many different types of needs. We’ve helped Greenhouse Scholars foster tomorrow’s leaders, Colfax Community Network bring a moment of stability to families living in the motels along Colfax Avenue, GrowHaus transform a community through healthy food, and Wapiyapi bring the healing power of nature to families touched by cancer in addition to many other remarkable organizations.
